Miracle Okafor converted an injury-time penalty as Alvechurch drew 2-2 with Spalding United and forced an FA Cup replay.
MIRACLE Okafor’s injury-time penalty earned Alvechurch an FA Cup replay against Spalding United following a dramatic 2-2 draw.
Okafor scored from the spot three minutes into injury time at the Sir Halley Stewart Field to send the fourth round qualifying tie to a replay.
The striker had earlier halved the deficit after a Dan Jarvis brace put National League North side Spalding in command.
The FA Cup first round draw takes place live on TNT Sports and the TNT Sports YouTube channel from about 6.35pm tonight (Monday, October 19).
Spalding broke the deadlock on 18 minutes when Jarvis controlled a cutback from the right and fired a low effort into the bottom left corner from just inside the penalty area.
And the home side doubled their lead after the break on 61 minutes when Jarvis rounded Redman Evans and finished into an empty net.
nevertheless, Church halved the deficit seven minutes from time as Nick Clayton-Phillips found Okafor who held off his marker and powered a shot into the bottom left corner from the edge of the penalty area.
And the visitors won a penalty deep into injury time after Spalding goalkeeper Peter Crook punched an Alvechurch in the head when attempting to a clear a free-kick into the box.
Okafor kept his cool from the penalty spot to send the resulting spot kick down the middle of the goal and earn the visitors a replay.
The replay takes place on Tuesday, October 20 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Lye Meadow.
