Marquez flying for Ducati before MotoGP season
Six-time Spanish world champion Marc Marquez set the fastest lap on Thursday in the second of two days of pre-season testing at the Buriram circuit in Thailand with 1min 28.855sec.
The session comes two weeks ahead of the start of the 2025 MotoGP season.
Veteran Marquez came out on top, ahead of his brother Alex Marquez who clocked 1min 29.034 and Italian Marco Bezzecchi with 1min 29.060.
This was the Spaniard's second notable performance for the Ducati team, which he joined in January to form a duo with Italian Francesco Bagnaia to fight for the title.
His teammate was fifth fastest, coming in at 1min 29.378.
"It's been a very good pre-season", Marquez said smiling.
Spanish title holder Jorge Martin was out of action due to an injury to his right hand following a crash in Malaysia, which required an operation.
The session took place in temperatures soaring to around 36 degrees Celsius (96.8 Fahrenheit), giving the riders a taste of the conditions they can expect at the first Grand Prix of the season, on the same circuit, on March 2.
The Thai Grand Prix will kick off the longest season in MotoGP history, with 22 races on the schedule.
