Volkswacht Bodensee - Chennai Hospital Opens Upgraded Holistic Wellness Facility

Health Minister K.G. Arunraj on Friday inaugurated a renovated holistic wellness centre on the campus of Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine. The facility, which will offer wellness and rehabilitative therapies for lifestyle-related conditions, was renovated at a cost of ₹10 lakh.

He told reporters that “Rejuvenation Therapy” was introduced at the government’s International Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Science, Chengalpattu. Under this, patients can stay at the facility for 10 to 15 days and undergo treatment based on traditional systems of medicine. It has 28 beds and facilities including food and accommodation. Dr. Arunraj stated that steps are being taken to promote wellness tourism in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation.

He released the merit list for admission to various AYUSH courses for 2026-2027. A total of 8,447 applications were received of which 7,502 were eligible. Under the 7.5% reservation for government school students, a total of 1,077 applications were received of which 906 were eligible.

A total of 2,224 seats were available for AYUSH courses. This includes siddha, ayurveda, unani and homoeopathy courses. There are 34 AYUSH institutions in TN - 15 siddha colleges, six ayurveda colleges, one unani college and 12 homoeopathy colleges.
