Body found in search for missing Glasgow teenager
Police found a body in Mugdock Country Park during the search for 17-year-old Kristijonas Demcenko, who had been missing from Glasgow for four days.
Police found a body in Mugdock Country Park during the search for 17-year-old Kristijonas Demcenko, who had been missing from Glasgow for four days.
A body has been found in the search for a missing 17-year-old boy who vanished in a Glasgow suburb four days ago.
Kristijonas Demcenko was last seen at around 2.30pm on Monday in Milngavie, near the junction of Mugdock Road and Douglas Street.
CCTV captured him walking towards Mugdock Road car park, wearing a black jacket, black jeans and black trainers with white soles. He was also carrying a black bag.
A search was launched after he was reported missing that same day, with police appealing to the public for information about his whereabouts.
Residents were urged to check dashcam and doorbell footage for any possible sightings, as well as garden sheds and outbuildings in case the teenager had sought shelter.
But the search ended in tragedy on Friday, when a body was discovered in Mugdock Country Park, north of Milngavie.
Police Scotland stated formal identification has yet to take place, but Kristijonas’ family have been informed of the discovery.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: ‘On Friday, October 16, we received a report of the body of a man having been found in the Mugdock Country Park area of Milngavie.
‘Formal identification is yet to take place however, the family of 17-year-old Kristijonas Demcenko, who had been reported missing from Glasgow, have been made aware.
‘The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.’
