Three Texas Tech softball players hurt in jet ski collision
Three members of the Texas Tech softball programme suffered non-critical injuries in a two-jet-ski accident during a team event near Lubbock.
The crash occurred Thursday at Lake Ransom Canyon outside Lubbock. The initial emergency call was placed at about 3:38 p.m. local time, according to KAMC. Three adult women sustained injuries to their extremities, including legs and a hand.
One injured person was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center. The other two travelled for treatment in private vehicles. Texas Tech said every injured student-athlete had been treated and was expected to make a full recovery. Coach Gerry Glasco thanked supporters for their messages and said everyone was safe and recovering well.
The Ransom Canyon Police Department, Ransom Canyon Fire Department and Texas Parks and Wildlife are investigating. Texas Tech has not publicly named the players. The Red Raiders reached the Women’s College World Series championship series in both 2025 and 2026, finishing runner-up to Texas each year while compiling a 115-24 record.
